Jeezy Claims Even Intense Therapy Could Not Save Marriage To Jeannie Mai
Many people will throw in the towel on their marriage without even doing the necessary steps to save it, but Jeezy claims he’s not one of those people.
During a new interview with Nia Long, the 46-year-old rapper talked about how “no amount of work” could save his marriage with his estranged, Jeannie Mai. He explained how they attempted to go to therapy, but even that couldn’t save their marriage.
This has not been an easy journey. I can only be responsible for myself. I can tell you that I’m saddened. I can tell you I’m disappointed. I can tell you that I’m uneasy. I can only do what I can do. I can’t expect someone else to do what I’m doing.
It almost sounds like he’s trying to claim he wanted to stay married more than Mai did. If you don’t remember, Jeezy filed for divorce from the 44-year-old TV host back on September 15, after just two years of marriage.
The couple share a 1-year-old daughter named Monaco together, and according to the reports, they are trying their best to co-parent. They are both seeking joint legal custody. It’s also reported they had a prenup in place.
One insider shared:
They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met. They weren’t on the same page about certain family values and expectations.
Mai hasn’t really addressed the divorce publicly, so we’ll wait to see if she has anything to say in response to Jeezy’s latest interview.
