Roseanne Barr Shocked as Estranged Ex Makes Appearance At Her Roast
Who would ever think that your estranged ex, would make an appearance at your honorary roast? Definitely not Roseanne. That explains her surprise when ex Tom Arnold appeared as a roaster during her Comedy Central Roast Saturday night in Hollywood.
Before the roast and before Roseanne knew that Tom was taking place in the festivities the 59 year old said she wasn’t really nervous about being roasted. Roseanne stated,
“I’m not nervous at all, I’m excited,” she told us. “It’s going to be a blast as soon as I get in there and start drinking!”
Jane Lynch was acting roastmater and did a great job and came out with some opening jabs.
JAB1: “She’s one of those rare celebrities so famous that she’s referred to by just one name: b—-,”
JAB2: “I waved to you outside but then I realized it was just one of those inflatable parking lot gorillas.”
Jeff Ross who is known for his roasting skills was equally as brutal but tame compared to the infamous roast of Charlie Sheen. Two notables from Jeff Ross were,
“I’ve got to give it to you, you’ve been tortured and abused all night and you’re still hanging in there. Roseanne, I’m not talking to you, I’m talking to the chair you’re sitting on,”
“I’d only roast a pig if it had an apple in its mouth.”
Then towards the end of the night Tom Arnold appeared shocking everyone. The audience was shocked again with his closing comments which were so touching and endearing it had to cure all that was bad between the two. Arnold said,
“In 1985, Roseanne went on Johnny Carson, which is every comic’s dream back then, She killed, he laughed his ass off, he gave her a thumbs up and he invited her to sit on his couch. She got validation from the king which can never be taken away from her.
And I just want to say, Rosanne, you were my Johnny Carson. And thank you for the thumbs up and thank you for inviting me to sit on your couch for a little bit.”
Awwww.. Sniff, sniff.
You can see the Roast in its entirety Sunday August 12, at 10:00 PM on Comedy Central.
