Billy Bob Thornton’s, Sentenced for 20 Years for Killing a Child!

Billy Bob Thornton’s, daughter is going to jail for killing a 1 year old!  How about that for a headline?

Her name is Amanda Brumfield, she is the daughter of Billy Bob’s Thornton from his first marriage.  She was recently convicted and sentenced to 20 years for killing a 1 year old girl who she was tasked to care for.

It was actually the daughter of her best friend.  In 2008 it was revealed that the baby suffered blunt force trauma to the head.  As a result she suffered brain injury and a fractured skull.

Brumfield alleges the baby fell from the play pen.  She said she noticed the baby’s tongue was bleeding and she cleaned it with a paper towel.  Amanda says the baby seemed happy and ate bananas and fruit snacks before falling asleep next to Amanda on the couch.  When she woke up to put the baby back into the playpen, the body was limp.  She called 911 a full two and a half hours after the original fall.

Prosecutors said that it was “impossible” for the fall from the playpen to cause the three-and-a-half-inch fracture in the girl’s skull, and that the girl’s death was no accident.

Brumfield is Billy Bob Thornton’s oldest daughter from his first wife Melissa Lee Gatlin.  They were only married for two years.  Thornton was not around for her childhood.

“She didn’t grow up with me, and so we were pretty much strangers for years. Then a few years later, we reconnected, and it’s really good now.”

After Brumfield’s arrest in 2009, Thorton’s publicist came out to say that the actor ”has had no contact with her for quite some time.”

I’d be keeping my distance from this situation as well.
