Amy Winehouse Cause of Death Finally Confirmed – Alcohol! Star was more then 5 Times the Legal Limit!

Finally we got the results.  The real results.  It appears that Amy Winehouse drank herself to death.  Literally.  An investigation showed that she had more then 5 times the driving limit in her system at the time she died.

Her family almost celebrated when an initial toxicology report found  no illegal substances in he system.  During an interview with Anderson Cooper, Mitch Winehouse in an “I told you so” sort of way said that they found  traces of the drug Librium, used to treat withdrawal symptoms during treatment from alcoholism were found in her daughter’s body.  He thought that she was using the powerful anti-anxiety drug and suffered a seizure.  Well’s he’s not the coroner!

They are officially labeling her death “death by misadventure”.

Her drink of choice was apparently Vodka.  She had 416 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, the Britain legal driving limit is only 80!

When her body was found, they also found  two large bottle of vodka and one small one.  Her vital organs were in good health and it appeared that she had successfully stayed away from illegal drugs, but that much vodka in her system  could have easily stopped her breathing and sent her into a coma.

At just 200 mg someone will lose control of their reflexes and 350 mg is considered fatal.  She had 416!

Susanne Greenay, the real Coroner said,

‘She had consumed sufficient alcohol at 416mg per decilitre (of blood) and the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and unexpected death.’

I wonder if that will be the end of this….somehow I doubt it.
