Samuel Jackson’s Wife LaTanya Richardson Calls Hubby Emotionally Disconnected
What did you say b**h? Say Disconnected again….I dare you!!
That is probably the dinner conversation in Samuel Jackson’s house. That’s what I would expect.
Just recently an interview with New York Times Magazine Samuel Jackson’s wife, LaTanya Richardson, who is also an actress, talked about their marriage and called it tough. She says that Jackson is “smart” and “emotionally disconnected”.
I wish there were more to this story, right now but I can’t find anything. I mean I have been called emotionally disconnected by a girlfriend or two that needed too much attention, is this different?
As LaTayna tells it, Yes.
She said that she would call him on the set while he was filming and ask if he missed her. Samuel Jackson’s reply would be,
No
Yeah…that’s emotionally disconnected for sure. Ladies most guys don’t miss you, especially if its only been a few hours, but only a handful of men would say “No”. That’s cold.
LaTanya said she was lonely in the marriage,
“I felt abandoned. It was easier in the earlier years when we sometimes acted together onstage,” she said.
BUT TIMES ARE CHANGING
LaTanya says that Sam’s come a long way,
“He’s changing, The other day I cut my hand and he took me to the hospital. Years ago, I’d have to go by myself.”
Jackson is the Hollywood’s highest grossing actor, meaning he has played in movies that have earned the most in Hollywood. That amount will only rise when “The Avengers” releases today. He has starred in a total of 140 films and still going strong.
Jackson himself admitted to marriage not being easy during a recent interview, discussed his relationship with LaTanya
“We’re both very tolerant. We’ve had big fights and those moments when it would have just been easy to walk away, but fortunately I went on location or she went on the road doing a play or something and then we forgot about it.”
Jackson also admits that he doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety. Maybe as a result of being raised by his grandparent instead of his parents, but it’s something that he owns. Jackson says in a separate interview
“One of the things that disturbs people about me is that I don’t have separation anxiety. I don’t miss my wife. LaTanya’s in New York, we talk once a day and we’re fine. At the end of a movie people go ‘I’m so sad’. [I say] ‘Is this the last movie you ever going to do?’”
I wouldn’t expect anything less. Jackson is currently filming his next role, a Quentin Tarantino’s slave-revenge epic, Django Unchained. [more…]
