Mumford & Sons Bassist Emergency Surgery
The Grammy award winning folk rock band announced they were having to cancel 3 of their upcoming shows. One in Dallas, one near Houston and one in New Orleans. The news comes after the band found out that their bassist Ted Dwane had a blood clot on his brain. The band wrote the following message on their Facebook page…
“Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.”
The band also announced they will reschedule the canceled shows and everyone who had tickets will be taken care of. The Facebook post has received close to 14,000 likes and over 3,000 people have commented on the status update. Fans of the band have been sending their well wishes for the band and Ted. As of right now, the three concerts mentioned above are the only ones that have been canceled.
I’m assuming they will have to get a replacement for awhile, right? It’s hard to believe Ted would be rocking out on stage just a week after surgery. I certainly hope that he is able to do just that, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was forced to take it easy for a month or two. In any event, we certainly wish him a quick recovery!
