Dwayne Wade Finally Settles Divorce

Poor Dwayne Wade has been in a divorce battle with his ex-wife Siovaughn Funches for six years now. You may remember (probably not) that Dwayne filed for the divorce way back in 2007, years before he and LeBron James started their super team.

Dwayne and his ex-wife have been battling back and forth, it’s been an extremely nasty divorce, but it’s finally being put to bed. After six long years, they have now reached a financial divorce settlement. The NBA superstar will have to pay Funches $5 million and there is also a non-disparage agreement in the settlement.

This settlement could not have come sooner for Dwayne Wade. The divorce battle reached it’s breaking point last week when his ex-wife went on the streets of Chicago with a sign that read, “NBA Miami Heat star, mother of his children on the streets.” It was a real low point for both Funches and Wade.

Dwayne Wade’s lawyer thinks that her sign was a disgrace to the homeless community,

“Ms. Funches has made a mockery of homelessness which is a serious and personal issue for Mr. Wade as his mother was homeless for a period of time when he was a child.”

His lawyer also said that his client had been paying her $25,000 a month, which covered four cars, insurance, taxes, mortgage and attorney fees. However, the money battle is all over now and Funches will be getting that big payday she has always wanted.

The ex-couple still has some things to take care of in court, though. Dwayne has had sole custody of their two children since 2011 and Funches is demanding that she gets her visitation rights back. The court has yet to make a decision on that matter though.

Damn, this woman acts like a fool for six years and comes out with $5 million? The sad part about this is that in five years, I guarantee you she will already be running out of that money.
