Unlikely Feud: Tyler Perry and Oprah Are No Longer Besties. Find Out What Has Oprah So Angry!
OPRAH PUNCHES BACK
Oprah had to then remind him, that she threw him a bone, not the other way around. After Tyler’s outburst, Oprah fired back
you needed me as much as I needed you when we decided to do this partnership and don’t forget that
She was referring to the fact that, when Tyler joined OWN, TBS had given him the boot. ‘House of Payne’ and ‘Meet the Browns’ originally had huge ratings for the network, and TBS decided to create and staff an urban division just to support Tyler’s programming. However, time proved that it was just a flash. By 2011 TBS did a complete 180 degree spin. They laid off the entire urban division and decided that they would not be renewing Tyler Perry’s contract. They claimed the main reason was as ratings begin to dip, Tyler wouldn’t take network feedback when they offered it. Sound familiar?
So Oprah let him know that he wasn’t “all that” and in doing so she was also honest, admitting that she did in fact need him.

Oprah was even interviewed for the piece but she had no idea it was going to be positioned as it was. She would not entertain the fact that Tyler didn’t know that the headline would elude that he had saved her network. She knows that he micromanages everything and that he knew damn well what the headline was going to be before it was published.
DAMAGE CONTROL
Tyler Perry is no dummy. He owns his own studio and he is worth over $400 million, but he doesn’t have his own network…yet. And as long as he’s friends with Oprah he doesn’t need his own network. He realizes he needs to do damage control. During his press junket for the new season of ‘The Have and Have Nots’, Perry was at a private press dinner in New York and decided to clear up the New Work Magazine Headline. He told attendees,
