Kendall Jenner Gives Her Fans No Warning, Deletes Her Instagram Account…But Why Did She Do It? And How Long Will She Be Gone?
This past week has been difficult for everyone. Social media is even more infuriating than normal, thanks to one of the worst elections in recent history. You can’t go on Facebook or Twitter without seeing one of your friends or family members arguing with someone.
We’ve probably all thought about deleting our accounts. You’ve probably warned your friends you were going to do it, but it’s been too hard to pull the trigger.
Well, it apparently wasn’t that hard for Kendall Jenner. The 21-year-old model/reality star shocked her fans on Sunday when she deleted her Instagram account without warning. At first, all of her images were deleted and then when fans tried to visit her page, they were greeted with this message: “Sorry this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”
She hasn’t provided a reason to the sudden deletion; however, if you look back at past interviews, the answer might already be there. She has said multiple times in the past that she’s not a huge fan of social media and tries to limit how much time she spends on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
Jenner talked to Allure Magazine recently about a vacation she had with her family, where she was shocked to see how much time her sister Kylie spends on her phone:
“I definitely have close friends, and even some family members, who are so connected to their phone and can’t get off of it. I was just zoning out, taking it all in. And Kylie wouldn’t put her phone down. I’m like, ‘That’s so crazy to me that you’re not experiencing this.’ That was the moment it kind of clicked for me. And I didn’t like it. So sometimes I delete Instagram or Twitter or Snapchat off my phone for a couple days.”
We’ll see how long she can handle it this time. We should probably start taking bets. A week? Two weeks? A month? A year?
What you got? Winner gets nothing. Not even my love.
