‘Flip or Flop’ Stars Plan To End Marriage After Bizarre Incident At Family Home, HGTV Says Series Will Continue
Hold the phone, there is some legit drama on HGTV. The network is typically filled with the most basic programming ever. The shows couples watch when their sex life has vanished.
But their is some excitement on the network now, thanks to the hosts of ‘Flip or Flop‘, Tarek and Christina El Moussa. They have been married for seven years, and if you’ve been watching their show, you’d think they have a perfect marriage.
That’s obviously not the case, though. They released a statement to the media this week, explaining that they might be putting an end to their marriage.
“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed. During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be.”
And this incident they’re referring to is a pretty strange one. Back in May, officers responded to a call of a “possibly suicidal male with a gun” at the couple’s home in Orange County. Over 11 officers showed up at the house and a helicopter was called in.
According to their neighbors, Tarek grabbed a gun from his safe and ran outside with it. He went in his backyard and disappeared down a hiking trail.
When the helicopter spotted him, he was instructed to drop the weapon. He later told officers that he wasn’t trying to hurt himself.
“He said he wanted to ‘blow off some steam,’ and only brought the gun for mountain lions and rattlesnakes.”
Cops took at least five guns from their house that night.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THEIR SHOW?
They will continue to work on the show together, and it looks like producers are thrilled about this. They believe the drama will make for a more entertaining show.
We’ll see how it works out for them. Will it be a flip or a flop?
