Kodak Black Completes 90 Days In Rehab Just In Time For Christmas, Plans Comeback Tour
Back in September, it was reported that Kodak Black failed a required drug test, which sparked a judge to require him to enter and complete a 90-day rehab program.
He was supposed to complete the program in Florida, but he was able to get a 30-day period of that time moved outside the state to give him “a better chance at success.”
Black has reportedly now completed the program, and now he’s planning a comeback to the music scene. His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, says the judge working the case has been pleased with Black’s progress so far, which is why he was granted supervised release.
He’s already hit the stage too — Rolling Loud California was his first live performance since his release … after which, he headed back to Florida.
Cohen says Kodak is looking forward to making good music, and is going to try to stay away from people, places and things that would put him in harm’s way, or trigger him to use again.
Sounds like he’s going to really put all his energy into work, which should be enough to distract him for a good amount of time.
But I don’t know that it’ll work over a long period of time. Hopefully he continues to get help from some professional source.
For those who don’t know, Black was previously on supervised released due to his federal gun case. He was arrested in 2019 for weapons possession and was sentenced to almost four years in prison in federal prison. He even released an album from prison in 2020.
Then on January 19, 2021, Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black’s sentence for his 2020 conviction. He was still on the hook for a criminal sexual assault charge, which he later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first degree assault and battery. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
At just 24-years-old, Black has been through A LOT. Let’s hope he can finally turn it around.
