Madonna Responds To Internet Haters Slamming The Way Her Face Looks After Plastic Surgery
Madonna made headlines at the 2023 Grammys for all the wrong reasons. The 64-year-old artist took the stage to introduce Sam Smith and Kim Petras for their ‘Unholy’ performance, but all anyone could talk about was her face.
People online were trolling her for essentially getting a brand new face. One person tweeted, “Me attempting to ignore the fact that Madonna has a whole new face. #GRAMMYs.”
Another person seemed just as confused, “Whaaaaaat happened to Madonna’s face?! #GRAMMYs.”
There were so many comments about Madonna’s face you would have thought it won Album of the Year.
On Tuesday, Madonna went on her social media accounts to respond to the trolls blasting her face. She talked about how excited she was to introduce Smith and Petras at the Grammys. She wanted the attention to be on them, but instead, people only focused on her face.
Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim- Many people chose to only talk about Close-up photos of me Taken with a long lens camera By a press photographer that Would distort anyone’s face!! Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women pass [sic] the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous.
She went on to say she’ll never apology for her creative choices, or for how she looks or dresses. She also said she has been degraded by the media for her entire career.
I mean, hey… look. I think 99% of the people commenting on the internet about how other people look probably need to look at their own nasty self in the mirror.
That being said, if you make drastic changes to your face via plastic surgery (which Madonna has definitely done) you can’t expect people to just ignore them. You just gotta own it.
