We still don’t know exactly what Foxx is dealing with, but we do know he’s recovering and expects to be back in front of the cameras soon.
John Boyega, who has been trying to call Foxx nearly every day since the incident, claims the 55-year-old actor finally picked up the phone. He revealed the exciting news at the Hollywood premiere of his and Foxx’s upcoming film, They Cloned Tyrone.
He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro. He’s doing well. And then, you know, we [are] just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return. I gave him the well-wishes directly. I gave him all the well-wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.
It’s the first real update we’ve had in over a month now. Additionally, the film’s director also talked to Foxx on the phone, and they say he’s doing great and will be back to work soon.
[Our director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.
That’s awesome news. For a while there, we didn’t know if Foxx was going to make it, so it’s really great to hear he’s actually speaking with people directly and telling them he plans to come back soon.
Here’s to hoping we finally hear from him directly in the next couple weeks!
