Actress Florence Pugh Fights Back Against Trolls Who Slammed Her For Showing Off Nipples In Sheer Dress!
Florence Pugh is already a household name in the film world. She’s starred in some pretty great movies in the past few years, and her upcoming flick, Don’t Worry Darling, could earn her a few nominations this awards season.
But unfortunately, it’s not her acting that has people talking about her. The 24-year-old actress, who weirdly dates 47-year-old actor Zach Braff, wore a sheer gown to the Valentino Haute Couture Show in Rome earlier this week.
The dress, which was a crowd favorite at the event, showed off her nipples quite clearly. This led to a lot of hate comments online, with some dudes even claiming she shouldn’t wear a dress like that because her breasts are small. Yeah, some people actually said that. While others just complained that she was “slutty” for showing off her nipples.
Pugh went on her Instagram account to address the criticism. She admitted she knew the dress would spark some controversy, but she didn’t expect the targeted hate from men on her body.
What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see. It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be. So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t–s’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested,’ I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.
She continued by explaining how grateful she feels to have grown up in a household with very strong and powerful curvy women, who were raised to “find power” in their creases.
To be loud about being comfortable. It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f–k it and f–k that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive.
More power to her. The world is weird about nipples anyway. We see dude’s hairy nipples and sweaty stomaches all the damn time. But the moment someone sees a nipple attached to a woman, everyone freaks the f**k out because it’s sexualized.
Janet Jackson deserved better.
