Matt Lauer Not Nearly as Bad as Advertised during Jennifer Lopez Interview [video]
Matt Lauer is getting quite the reputation for “going in” hard during interviews but this time it’s more gossip then anything. He honestly wasn’t that bad, I say on a squirm scale of 1 to 10, he was about a 7. I’ve seen worse….cough…(Kris Humphries)…cough.
“Make ‘em Squirm Matt” starts off the interview with,
“I don’t’ care how big you get….”
Excuse Me!!!
He met stardom – not booty; Like in “no matter how big of a star J-Lo becomes”.
As the interview continued Lauer’s questioning got tougher and J-Lo felt it harder and harder to keep it together but she did. He started off with the general “American Idol” questions and then eased into the new show she is producing with Marc Anthony, Q’Viva! The Chosen. As soon as she mentions Marc…Lauer smells blood in the water and goes in.
When he asked about her decision to continue working on Q’Viva! J-Lo replies,
“Marc and I were friends before we got married. We were friends for years. And we always loved each other, and we always worked together,” she explained to Lauer. “So it wasn’t like an unnatural thing to keep working together.”
“Obviously, we have children together so it’s not like he’s not going to be in my life,
I’m not going to sit here and lie to you about it,” she noted. “But at the end of the day there is real love there, and there is a family there.”
Then he pulls out the Vanity Fair interview asking her about her statement of loving herself enough to walk away from her marriage. Taken off guard slightly she starts her answer with,
“Matt, I’m going to kill you right now,”
She then refused to answer the question,
Everything I wanted to say about the divorce I said in that article,
She playfully answered, a little uncomfortable but handled herself well. I wish I could say the contrary but there is no need for me to talk unwarranted smack. She did a great job, point blank. There is no feud – it wasn’t as harsh as everyone made it sound. Job well done.
At least she acknowledged that she is not ready for marriage. In regards to that question her reply was,
“It’s not time to think about that.”
Thank God!
A real feud, as it was advertised, between Lauer and Lopez would have been Matt asking her about dating a 24 year old loser and if she is in “Love” with him. Then asking her how she feels about Marc Anthony and his new “boo”, and their Facebook pictures. That would be going in; compared to that Lauer was gentle.
