Confirmed: 50 Cent Hired a Private Investigator to Look into the Death of Chris Lighty.
Chris Lighty’s suicide has hit some people hard. So hard in fact they believe that the mogul might have not really committed suicide. Against his widow’s wishes, friends and family have hired their own private investigators to look into the death. 50 Cent is amongst those not easily accepting that such an accomplished man, who is known to deal with and has dealt with tremendous adversity would kill himself in that manner.
Lighty launched Violator Records and was the manager for Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, and 50 cent. This is a job and industry that takes a certain personality and that profile doesn’t include someone who would kill themselves over martial issues and IRS trouble.
Lighty’s mother and family as well as Diddy, and Russell Simmons are all skeptical. The suspicions started immediately and became evident during Lighty’s funeral, the NY Post described the funeral,
“It’s a world divided, Even at the funeral, Veronica sat on one side in the front with her kids and her family, and the Lighty family was on the other.”
Lighty’s Mom reached out to 50 Cent and he agreed to pay for attorney Scott Leemon and famous investigator Les Levine. Leemon told the press,
“I’ve been asked by Chris’ mother and many of his former clients/business associates/friends (including 50 Cent, Busta and Q-Tip) to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding his premature death.”
Dave Lighty, who said that he spent almost every day with his brother until he went off to school, is also not buying the suicide story either,
Chris was a go-getter, the ultimate non-stopping machine, That’s just not something I would see him putting upon the rest of us and everybody that he knows that looks up to him.”
Reports are that Lighty left a will assigning his wife in full control of his estate. Dave Lighty promises as more details are made available about his brother’s death from the investigation he would notify the public.
Here is Dave Lighty talking to MTV’s Sway.
