Tamera Mowry Talks About The Horrible Things People Would Say About Her Interracial Marriage
Remember Tamera and Tia Mowry? Of course you do! How could anyone forget the identical twin sisters that starred in, “Sister, Sister“? Every kid growing up in the 90s watched that show.
Well, Tamera and Tia were recently on an episode of, “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” and Tamera opened about the hurtful comments she has recieved about her interracial marriage. Tamera married Fox News Channel correspondent, Adam Housley, back in 2011 and has been dealing with hurtful comments ever since.
During the episode, Tamera started to get emotional while talking about the comments. She claims she has been called a “White man’s whore” and has people tell her, “Back in the day, you cost $300, but now, you’re giving it away for free.”
[more…]She explained how much those comments hurt her because her relationship with her husband is all about love,
“See, this is where I get emotional, because it’s hurtful. Because when my husband and I are so openly — and we’re fine with showing — is love. Love. But people choose to look past love and spew hate. That’s what hurts me, because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life, ever.”
And get this, people have even been using her twin sister’s marriage against her,
“They say, ‘Oh, Tia’s a true black woman because she married a black man.’ Oh – I’m less of a black person because I married white?”
However, at the end of the day, the hurtful comments don’t matter. She knows her relationship is based on love and is proud of her family.
Good for her. It’s sad that people are so cruel. Sometimes plain chocolate and plain vanilla get boring by themselves. But when you mix those two together?
