Selena Gomez Talks About Justin Bieber And Her Decision To Take Off Her Purity Ring

Don’t worry. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez aren’t getting back together. It took a few years, but the 23-year-old singer is finally over her first real love. But just because she’s over the relationship, doesn’t mean the media or the fans are ready to let go.

Gomez opened up to the U.K.’s Sunday Times recently. “It’s difficult for people to separate us. The internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it.” She said during the interview.

She also made it clear that she doesn’t feel bad about falling in love. She doesn’t regret the toxic and very public relationship she had with the Biebs.

I didn’t think I was doing anything bad by falling in love. There’s such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it’s good press. Throw in the fact that you’re a teenager­­­­—it makes it more difficult.

And what about that purity ring? Some of you may remember that Selena actually took off the ring when she started dating Justin. Her fans questioned her decision, but once again, she’s not embarrassed. She explained that she got the ring when she was 13, but as she got older, she realized the ring wasn’t for her…

I’m not embarrassed to say that. I’m also not embarrassed to say that the ring has come off. I got it when I was 13 and I respect so much what it represented, but it isn’t for everyone.

Gomez does admit that she has those, “I don’t wanna get out of bed” days. And even admits to crying in her closet, but she’s trying her best to learn from those difficult moments.

The next relationship will be something dear to me. There is no way I will ever hide my life.
