Tia Mowry Says She Is “Not Pregnant, I Am Just Happy” While Defending Her Body Against Those Haters!
What happens when a woman in Hollywood gains 10-15 pounds? Rumors happen, more specifically pregnancy rumors happen, because there is no way a female celebrity would allow herself to just gain weight. It needs to be salad and air 24/7, right?
Tia Mowry is hoping to change that dangerous way of thinking. People online have been spreading rumors about her recently, claiming that she was pregnant. They believe she is pregnant because she gained a little bit of weight over the past few months.
But during an interview with HuffPost Live, Mowry explained that it’s just “happy” pounds.
I am not pregnant, I am just happy. I’ve gained these extra 10 [or] 15 pounds because of my cooking show. I’m just enjoying life, and when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I’m happy with who I am.
What?!? YOU CAN’T SAY THAT, MOWRY! BLAME IT ON SOME NEW MEDICATION YOU ARE TAKING OR SOMETHING! Unless you are pregnant or gaining weight for a movie role, the trolls of the internet are going to attack.
But like we said, Tia wants to put an end to that, “It is a form of body shaming, I will say that, and it’s pretty unfortunate…We live in a society that is so obsessed with being perfect…why can’t we just be us?” She said during the interview.
Apparently these trolls have been attacking Mowry for months now. Four months ago, she was forced to post this message on her Instagram account…
Good for her. She’s obviously still at a healthy weight, so why the f–k should any of us care if she gains a few pounds? And the most infuriating thing about these trolls is that most of them are dudes who are overweight! They need to look in the mirror before criticizing some stranger on the internet.
We’ll end with this powerful quote from Mowry…
We need to be more supportive with body images, especially with women, showing that all sizes are beautiful. And I’m talking about in magazines, advertisement in regard to what’s sexy and what’s not sexy. We all need to be a little more supportive of each other. I think if we start there, we’ll see a difference.
