As Kesha’s Mother Drops Her Counterclaims Against Dr. Luke, Kesha Drops New Music With Zedd!
It looks like things are starting to look up for Kesha and her family. The 29-year-old singer is still in a long and nasty legal battle with Sony and music producer Dr. Luke, but there is some good news to report.
EDM DJ Zedd announced that he and Kesha have worked together in the studio to create a new version of his 2015 song True Colors. He shared the news on his Instagram account, writing the clever caption, “ZEDD & KESHA – TRUE COLORS. OFFICIALLY OUT: 4/29. Music can be freedom.”
How is this possible? Pretty simple…he just asked for permission. No “loop holes” were required. Kesha first performed the track with Zedd at Coachella. And even though she didn’t address the crowd, everyone there felt her pain as she delivered the lyrics on stage. It’ll be interesting to see if the track climbs up the charts again with this new release tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Kesha’s mother Pebe Serbert has decided to drop her counterclaims against Dr. Luke. Her attorney told E! News in a statement that she’s trying to find peace and forgiveness in her heart…
The litigation with Dr. Luke has been a nightmare for Mrs. Sebert and her family. She has decided to move on and find peace and forgiveness in her heart rather than dwelling in the cancerous past of an ongoing lawsuit with no end in sight.
Dr. Luke and his legal team consider this to be a small victory. They believe it proves she had no case against him, and they also believe it shows who the real victim is here.
Pebe Sebert’s voluntary withdrawal of all her claims against Dr. Luke is her acknowledgement that her claims are meritless. Dr. Luke’s defamation and other claims continue against Pebe and Kesha Sebert.
So. Much. Drama. Hopefully this all gets settled soon. Let’s stay focused on the music! And speaking of music, you can listen to Kesha’s Coachella performance of True Colors in the video below.
