Police Have Arrested And Charged LA Man For The Death Of Jacqueline Avant
Last week, we told you about the horrific news coming out of Beverly Hills. Jacqueline Avant, the 81-year-old wife of music industry legend Clarence Avant, was shot and killed inside their home during a home invasion robbery.
According to the report, a man broke inside the property, shot at a security guard and then shot and killed Jacqueline. An absolutely senseless tragedy, but unfortunately one of many in affluent neighborhoods of Los Angeles in recent months.
Police were searching for a possible suspect in connection with this murder, and this week, they got their guy.
A 29-year-old man named Aariel Maynor has been arrested and charged with one count each of murder, attempted murder and felon with a firearm. According to the press release, police had multiple surveillance videos showing the suspect’s car leaving the scene.
Additionally, the BHPD detectives responded to a second report of a shooting allegedly involving Maynor, Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook said Thursday. At the second crime scene, they found Maynor wounded by a gunshot, as well as evidence linking Maynor to the Avant crime scene, including the suspected weapon. They believe the suspect shot himself in the foot.
Ah, yes. He certainly shot himself in the foot. This Mayner dude is a career criminal. Back in 2013, he was charged with robbery and sentenced to five years in prison.
That same year, he was found guilty of a domestic violence charge and in 2010 he was convicted on felony grand theft auto.
Looks like this time he’ll be locked away for good.
