Taylor Swift Might “Skip” Thanksgiving Entirely After Traumatic Tour Stop In Brazil

Brazil can be a complicated place, and Taylor Swift found that out the hard way this past week. She had several Brazil dates of her international Eras tour planned, but at least one has already been canceled due to extreme heat.

During last Friday’s show, the heat index reached an extremely dangerous 139 degrees Fahrenheit, which is basically to the point where your body has trouble sweating to cool your organs down. Tragically, a 23-year-old fan passed out at the concert and went into cardiac arrest at the hospital. She later died.

I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.

A local news organization in Brazil claims fans weren’t given water while they waited in line to grab a good spot for general admissions before the concert.

Even Swift was struggling to perform. She was seen having to take breaks multiple times and catch her breath. She was also drenched in sweat. At one point she paused her set to urge staff members to hand out bottles of water to the audience.

“It’s very hot, so if somebody says they need water when it’s this hot they really need it. We need water,” she spoke into the microphone.

Yikes. Sounds miserable, and sources say Swift is still trying to process it all. She had originally planned to take a pause from her tour and travel to the states for a few days to celebrate Thanksgiving, but now she doesn’t know what she wants to do.

While there were online rumors she could see her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, for Thanksgiving, we are now told she will decide after Monday night’s concert. She doesn’t know her holiday plans yet. The Brazil concerts… She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme. It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot. She is going to decide today.
