Jim Carrey’s Daughter Jane, Gets Special Treatment. Why Not, She’s Jim Carrey’s Daughter!
Apparently I missed Jane Carrey’s performance, but after all the yappin’ online, I had to see what all the buzz was about. She performed Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About” which is a pretty bold song choice.
There was plenty of backlash, with reporters and bloggers going nuts because of the so called, calling in “favors” because of her super famous Dad. An example, “Amy Reither” from the LA Times,
‘Jane “proceeded to milk that connection [with her dad] for a ticket to Hollywood on ‘Idol.’ Sure, she could sing well enough, but unless she’d stood on that aircraft carrier deck and croaked like a frog, the three judges would clearly have put her through.’
SPECIAL TREATMENT
Now Radar Online released more details of the 24 Year Old Mom’s special treatment,
“She didn’t have to sleep outside and wait for hours hoping to audition like everyone else, She basically had an appointment and showed up!”
“Her audition was pre-arranged with the producers. She did not wait and line up for hours or days outside – she had a time, she showed up and went in,” the source said.
MY DAD IS SUPER FAMOUS…IT’S SOOOOO HARD!
During her back story, Jane Carrey herself, talked about how difficult it was growing up the daughter of an A list celeb,
“It was definitely fun growing up with him as a father, he’s not the most extravagant celebrity so it’s been fairly normal — fairly. Everyone growing up has their issue with identity and trying to find themselves, It is difficult kind of growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world under the huge shadow.
“The last name definitely helps and hurts, I feel like there’s kind of this pressure to maybe be better, because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying ‘Oh you only got there because of this.'”
I say, Who Cares? First, she wasn’t even close to the worse person that received a golden ticket to Hollywood, and at the end of the day the public will vote on who wins. She’s Jim Carrey’s daughter for crying out loud. That should at least be good for something. Heck no, I’m not sleeping on the ground overnight to get in, when my Dad is “The Mask”. My Dad is Fire Marshall Bill! My Dad is Ace Ventura! At the end of the day, what makes “Idol” , “Idol” is the fact that talent and America’s approval gets you the recording contract. So everyone chill out. She only made it to Hollywood…that’s it. There is a long way to go, before you are making Ford commercials. Like Randy said, “I like the “POH” tential”.
Here’s her audition,
