Emily Prentiss Turns in her Badge After Six Years: Paget Brewster is Done with Criminal Minds.
Paget Brewster who plays Emily Prentiss in the Criminal Minds series calls it quits. This season will be her last. She is pulling a Hiegl as she has an itch to do something new. She tried to scratch that itch last season as she shot a pilot for an NBC comedy, “My Life as an Experiment”. Brewster, no stranger to comedy sitcoms or NBC as she gained her fame by joining the cast of “Friends” in its fourth season. She would have left Criminal Minds had the show been picked up. When it didn’t, due to crafty contract negotiations she was allowed to return for another season of the CM. She tried to pull the same stunt again for another pilot but this time couldn’t negotiate the deal. Now after 6 years she’s done, as she tells deadline.com,

If you watch the show regularly this will somewhat explain what has been going on with the script. First they let go Jereau (A.J.Cook) and put Prentiss in every episode. Then Jereau returns and Prentiss looks like she’s going to be axed (as she films the pilot) and then she isn’t. Now the next cliff hanger won’t be a hanger at all.
Ladies don’t fear Shemar Moore will be back along with Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna and A.J. Cook. Matthew Gray Gubler is still negotiating a contract for his return.
