The Assistant to the Amazing Race Producer is Now Paralzyed and Charged with Drug Violations.
I reported…or sort of reported A week or so ago, about the Amazing Race producer who was found dead. First reports were that he and his assistant were poisoned in Uganda after refusing to give up their goods to would be bandits. At the time of Jeff Rice’s death little specifics were known as his assistant was in a coma. She was found unconscious on the balcony of the hotel where the two were staying. Rice’s body was found slumped in a chair with blood coming out of his nose and mouth.
It appears that it was not poison at all….well sort of. Kathryne Fuller has recovered and was in the Buganda Road Magistrate Court in Kampala and charged with smoking and sniffing narcotic drugs.
The poison part comes in because the drugs were bad. Not bad as in “all drugs are bad”, but bad as in “super bad”. As in “Hit this and be found slumped dead in a chair bad!”.
The Ugandan police tracked down and arrested 23 year old Moses Kalanzi. (CSI Uganda!) He is a taxi cab driver who reportedly sold Rice and Fuller the contaminated drugs. He has been charged with manslaughter and selling restricted drugs with lethal additives and is currently in lock up.
FULLER IS NOW PARALYZED
Kathryne Fuller made her court appearance in a wheel chair with her father by her side. She has been paralyzed down her right side as a result of the toxic cocaine.
Wow! She is paralyzed!! Is getting high worth it??
During the hearing, judge Sylvia Nabaggala chastised Fuller saying that she has a 2nd chance on life,
“This should be looked at as a second chance being given to the accused who is alive by God’s chance. The accused could have lost her life and she should use this to reflect her life instead and not indulge in drugs,”
Fuller was given the option of six months in a Ugandan prison or pay $ 1 million Shillings. She chose to pay the Shillings. Don’t worry, it was only $420 bucks.
Full doesn’t remember much from the incident. She stated,
‘I took cocaine and I passed out. I can’t remember what happened after that. I woke up in the hospital,’
‘I feel much better knowing that I’m free to go,’
‘I have to go to South Africa for them to figure out what is wrong, for them to do an MRI (scan) to figure out what exactly is not working and why it’s not working.’
Fuller’s father, Stuart Fuller, who flew down to support his daughter was pissed!
‘I am cross, extremely cross. She’s an extremely bright woman who made a mistake,
After this, she’ll have to prove herself. We’ve been through hell, but which father wouldn’t rush to support his daughter?’
Kathryne’s Dad was cross, my Dad would have been Mad as Hell!!
Rice was a married man. Apparently instead of taking care of business, he was in his hotel room snorting cocaine with his production assistant. The two were in Uganda as part of a film crew producing a documentary with Hope Medical clinic. Somehow I don’t think his loving wife thought he was in a Hotel room snorting coke, with his assistant. Karma is a bitch!
