Stevie Wonder files for divorce!
Stevie Wonder is one of those artists that has been around longer then the internet so he’s had the luxury of keeping his private life private. Well welcome to 2012 Stevie, you are on full blast now!
Stevie got married back in 2001 to fashion designer Kai Millard Morris.
HOW STEVIE WONDER MET KAI MILLARD MORRIS
They were in a club called Nell’s back in 1999. Milla was working as a freelance director and her job was having a party at Nell’s. A gentleman approached her and said that his friend wanted to meet her. She was in the process of rejecting him, saying that she is there on business when she turned around and bumped into Stevie Wonder. Wonder slick-talked her until 5:00 in the morning. Six months later they were engaged.
KAI MILLARD GOT WHAT SHE WANTED, HER OWN FASHION LINE
Back in 2007, Milla did an article for Harper’s and everything seemed peachy. But everything always seems peachy until it’s not.
Notice when he met her she was an art director. Then she was a fashion designer with her own fashion line. There is no doubt that Stevie and his “WONDER”ful bank account had something to do with that. The 2010 collection that was presented in September of 2009 was the designer’s last season. According to the NY Post,
“The company has left many creditors coming after her to be paid for time, service, and materials, Modeling agencies, production crews, design assistants, pattern makers, office and store landlords have all been trying to contact her office in Los Angeles and New York for months for payment.”
Stevie and Milla have been living separately since 2009 the same year she closed up shop. Coincidence?
Stevie filed (signing the papers with finger prints) citing irreconcilable differences.
He has also filed for joint custody of his two young boys with Kai, 10-year-old Kailand and 7-year-old Mandla.
It’s not clear if there was a prenup but I hope so. Stevie is worth about $110 Million, I would hate for that to be cut in half. A 6 month engagement with a mega star; even a blind man could have seen this divorce coming.
