Alec Baldwin Tweets His Commitment to “30 Rock” – Cut My Pay…Please!
Alec Baldwin channeled his inner Leno and offered to take a pay cut to keep his job and those of the crew and cast on his hit NBC show. When he learned that his role as “30 Rock’s”, Jack Donaghyin will be ending, he put his money where his mouth is. Baldwin took to twitter with full disclosure,
”I offered NBC to cut my pay 20 percent in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock. I realize times have changed (sic).”
This surprised me, because just a few months ago, he said that he was leaving NBC after they sent a news crew to his house during the “Canadian chick” stalking incident. He was pissed with the station and called out the Today Show as the culprits,
”Outside my apt today, along side the other stalkers from the tabloid press, a crew that identified themselves as being with the Today Show. The television crew camped outside my apt said they were with the Today Show. #howthemightyhavefallen. I haven’t appeared on the Today Show in many years. But did they have to camp outside my apt?
”A story about stalking sure brings out the stalkers in the media. But, the Today Show? No one from NBC contacted me until the Today Show arrived at my apt. I think I’m leaving NBC just in time (sic).”
30 Rock will start its seventh season tonight and it appears the shows life is down to just 13 episodes, with the series finale being a 2 hour event. Baldwin has won 2 Emmy’s from the Tina Fey created show, not to mention his paycheck of $300,000 per episode. Quick math – That’s $3.9 million per season. His net worth is currently $65 Million – I’d put up 20% to stay on that gravy chain as well.
