Jersey Shore’s Vinny Guadagnino Lands his Own Talk Show…

MTV continues to bet big on the Jersey Shore crew, and this is no different.  Vinny Guadagnino has landed his own talk show with the network.  The show creatively called, “The Show with Vinny” will be a mix between a talk show and reality TV.

How will this work you ask?  Short answer is, it won’t work.

Long answer is: Vinny will interview Celebrity guests but not in an MTV studio but in his home in Staten Island surrounded by his super Italian family.  MTV thinks it will be a hoot to see celebrities harassed by Vinny’s mother Paula and his Uncle Nino. 

Soon to lose his job, Chris Linn, who is MTV’s executive VP of Programming said in a statement today,

“Vinny’s unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre-busting take on the interview format,  As the lives of the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise.”

The show is the third series that MTV has spun off of the Jersey Shore.  The jury is out whether or not the Pauly D Project will return and Snooki & JWoww has gotten picked up already for a second season.

This show with Vinny is a bad move.  Vinny is too normal which translates into boring.  I didn’t want to watch Vinny when he was on the Jersey shore, I certainly don’t want to watch him by himself.  The over and under for this show is four episodes and I doubt it will even open with good ratings.

I used to think that anything Jersey Shore related was better than nothing. Now I know that sometimes nothing is better.  This will be one of those times.
