Danica Patrick and Hubby Paul Hospenthal Call it Quits!

After seven years of marriage, Danica Patrick and her husband are finished.  Patrick announced the breakup to fans via her facebook page.  She wrote,

“I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”

Danica met her husband Patrick, a physical therapist, when he treated her for an injury. Danica and Patrick were married in 2005.  At just 30 years old, her husband Paul is 17 years her senior.

News of the divorce comes at a time that Danica’s career is hitting new milestones.  After moving from IndyCar to NASCAR, Danica just completed her first full season of NASCAR.    Fans voted her most popular driver of 2012.  Danica posted a short video thanking her fans for the votes, and then 1 hour later she posed the divorce notice.  I guess she felt guilty for not sharing this info with her fans.
