Glee’s Cory Monteith Checks Into Rehab

The very popular star of the hit TV show ‘Glee’ Cory Monteith has apparently checked himself into rehab. Now, it is widely known that the 30-year-old actor has suffered from substance abuse problems in the past, but it appears that now the problem is once again getting out of control.  A rep for the actor told PEOPLE magazine.

“He has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Back in 2011, Cory opened up in an interview about his past struggles with addiction. He admitted that he actually went to rehab when he was just 19-years-old. He said during the interview,

“I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous, too. But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it.”

He explained that he was opening up about his past because he thought it would help others who were suffering with similar problems.

His co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele is supportive of his decision to enter rehab, the actress told the magazine.

“I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”

Well, damn! I might hate the show he is on, but I don’t hate him. Hopefully he comes out of that place with a clear head. Maybe he will realize how silly ‘Glee’ is and move on to bigger and better projects.
