D.L. Hughley Not Liking DWTS

You all may remember D.L. Hughley from the TV show, ‘The Hughleys’ or you just might be a fan of his stand-up act. Some of you might not even remember who the hell he is, but he’s back on your TV screens once again on ABC’s reality show, ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ The completely unnecessary show that has captured America’s attention for eight long years now. The show is known for its grueling workout routine and for its brutally honest judges. Most of the time on these celebrity shows, the judges are always nice to the celebrities. They wouldn’t dare say a bad word about them but not the judges on DWTS, especially not Len Goodman.

Len was anything but a “Goodman” earlier this week when he berated D.L. Hughley’s latest performance. “It was as untidy as a teenager’s bedroom” Lee told a tired D.L. Hughley. Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli also had harsh words for Mr. Hughley, saying his hip action looked more like a “hip replacement.”

Hughley didn’t like what the judges had to say and he let it be known on a behind-the-scenes clip from the results show that aired last night. He said that the judges were bullies and that their criticism crossed the line. A frustrated Hughley told E! News,

“I don’t like the idea of somebody having a mic and me not. That to me is cowardly. What did I do? Did I dance so poorly that I made (Len) upset that I get to dance again? This experience is starting to be horrible for me. It’s not fun. It’s like going to school and the principal has it out for you. I don’t need you to help me, just look the other way.”

And Hughley was not the only one who felt like the judges were a little too harsh. Kym Johnson even said it was a little shocking, but believe it or not, Hughley and his dancing partner Cheryl Burke managed to escape elimination, thanks to a horrible performance by Wynonna Judd. It’s safe to say D.L. was a little surprised by the results. Hughley said,

“I can’t believe anybody scored lower than me. If my fans want me to stay, then I’ll stay. If they don’t, then I’ll be off. But you know what’s cool? If I get kicked off before I do the Waltz, then I’ll have to take my wife ballroom dancing so I can do the Waltz there.”

When did D.L. Hughley become such a softy? He acts like the judges came on stage and gave him a wedgie or something. Telling someone their routine was as untidy as a teenager’s bedroom isn’t exactly a punishable crime.
