MTV Movie Awards 2013
Did anyone watch the MTV Movie Awards last night? No? Well, don’t worry! We’re here to let you in on everything you missed, which wasn’t much, to be honest. Rebel Wilson hosted the show; you may know her as that funny fat chick from every single comedy that has come out recently. She’s been in, Bridesmaids, Bacherlorette, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Pitch Perfect and she’ll be in the new action/comedy “Pain & Gain” which will be released later this month.
She opened the award show with a musical, of course, because every single host has to do a musical opening now. At least with Rebel, it kind of made sense because she was helped out by her former co-stars of the movie, “Pitch Perfect.“ She actually won the “breakthrough performance” award for her role in the movie, so it was a good night for the host. It was also a good night for Bradley Cooper who won two awards last night. He won the first “golden popcorn” of the night for his role in the award winning movie, “Silver Linings Playbook.” His second award came later in the night when he and Jennifer Lawrence won “best kiss.” Sadly, he had to accept the award by himself because Jennifer Lawrence could not attend the event.
Samuel L. Jackson was another big winner last night. He also took home two golden popcorns. Samuel and Jamie Foxx won “best WTF moment” (yes that is a real award) for their scenes in, “Django Unchained.” Jackson had to go back on stage later in the night with the cast of, “The Avengers” to accept the award for movie of the year.
One of the most interesting moments of the night came when Will Ferrell took the stage to accept the “Comedic Genius” award. Not only was Will wearing a ridiculous looking suit that was covered in one dollar bills, but he was also interrupted by Aubrey Plaza. The hilarious actress from, “Parks and Recreation” pulled a “Kanye” on Will Ferrell and interrupted his speech. Aubrey managed to sneak her way on stage with the name of her new movie written on her chest. She then tried to steal the award away from Will before leaving the stage with embarrassment.
Will tried to play the whole thing off as best he could,
“Aubrey Plaza, everyone. Just like we rehearsed it. Perfect, it was perfect. Not too long, not too short. Right on the money.” Ferrell joked.
Aubrey was actually kicked out of the awards by the producers. Many people think she was drunk because she was seen with a cup in her hand throughout the night.
