LeAnn Rimes Talks About Life (and Anorexia)
Country music star LeAnn Rimes has had quite the ride the past few years. She’s only 30-years-old, but it feels like she has been in the public eye forever now, and that’s because she has! Her singing career started at the young age of 13 when she released her first album titled, “Blue.” It hit number one back when she first released it in 1996. LeAnn had to grow up fast; she put out more hits such as, “How do I Live” and looked like she had everything together. She even married her backup dancer, Dean Sheremet. She told MailOnline,
However, things went downhill when she met an actor by the name of, Eddie Cibrian. The two met on the set of, “Northern Lights” and their relationship was nothing but trouble from the start, “It’s definitely been a turbulent four years, and to say I’ve been on several rollercoasters is an understatement.”
She ended up having an affair with Eddie, which broke up Eddie’s marriage and LeAnn’s marriage. After they divorced their spouses, they ended up marrying each other shortly after. The drama-filled four years has provided her with a lot of material for her new album, “Spitfire.” LeAnn said,
“I think the last four years of my life just came out through my music. I don’t think I expected the album to be this honest, but I found that the emotions just came pouring out of me. It was liberating and cathartic to write, but it wasn’t easy.”
LeAnn also talked about her well documented battle with anorexia. Surely, you’ve seen the photos of LeAnn in a bikini, with every bone in her body showing. Her fans were genuinely concerned, but LeAnn claims her skinny frame had nothing to do with anorexia,
“People said I was (anorexic), but I didn’t have a problem eating as I ate a ton all the time – I could eat my husband under the table! But I was going through a time when I just wasn’t sleeping – my mind wouldn’t shut off and my heart was breaking. Now I’m secure with my body, although I’m like any other woman and have my moments of self doubt. But it’s nice to have a husband who tells you you’re beautiful all the time.”
Well, isn’t that sweet? Although, I think she is still in denial about the whole anorexia thing. Obviously, I don’t know her personally, bur it sure looked/sounded like she had an eating disorder. If she was really eating as much as she said then it wouldn’t matter how much sleep she was or was not getting. But does it even really matter? The important thing is that she seems to well on her way to a full recovery!
