Dylan Sprouse on Why He and Cole Sprouse Left Disney

Remember the two little twins from the very popular Disney channel show, ‘The Suit Life of Zack & Cody’? Heck, you might even remember them from the movie, ‘Big Daddy’ where they shared the same role, kind of like the Olsen twins did on, ‘Full House’. Anyway, they used to be the face of Disney channel. You couldn’t turn on that channel and not see their faces all over it. First starring in, ‘The Suit Life of Zack & Cody” and then getting a spin-off called, ‘The Suite Life on Deck.’

The twins ended up leaving the evil company behind all these crazy child stars, and their reasoning is extremely fascinating. Dylan was being interviewed on something called, ‘Outtakes with Natalia’ and during the interview, he explained what happened with the Disney channel. To make a long story shorter, Dylan and Cole wanted to write and produce the last season of their show before they went off to college. They had an idea on how they wanted the last season to end, and they pitched their idea to Disney.

Basically, they wanted to move back into the hotel that they were staying at in, ‘The Suit Life of Zack & Cody.’ They would move back in with their mom for a year while they decided on what they wanted to do with their life. While they were living in the hotel, they would meet a young boy who didn’t have a dad. They’d act as his “big brother” and show him all the fun ways to get in trouble at the hotel. Eventually, Cole would end up going to college and Dylan would go to work as a used car salesman. Dylan said that they wanted to do this idea because it would set up another season of the show with the young kid taking over and being the star. That way, the entire cast and crew could all keep their jobs after Dylan and Cole left.

However, he says that when they pitched the idea, Disney laughed in their face. And then a few days later, Disney came back to Dylan and his brother and decided to pitch their “own” idea. The only problem? It was the same exact idea as the twins! Except, it would take place in Miami, Selena Gomez would somehow be involved in the show and Dylan and Cole would not get producer credit.

The twin bros obviously turned down Disney’s offer and decided to just go to college a little early. Dylan and his brother are both still attending college at NYU and it appears like they have a good head on their shoulders. I’m glad they turned Disney down. IT’S EVIL, I TELL YA! EVIL!
