Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail For Butt Slap (VIDEO)

The former NFL star might know how to catch a football, but he doesn’t know how to act while in a courtroom. The 35-year-old from Florida was sentenced to 30 days in jail for slapping his attorney’s butt in court. Mr. Johnson had reached a plea deal with prosecutors in his domestic violence case. The plea deal would have resulted in Chad doing community service and going to counseling. He would have skipped serving any jail time.

However, Johnson screwed that all up after he was asked by the judge if he was happy with his lawyer Adam Swickle. Chad smiled and slapped his attorney’s butt, just like a coach would do to one of his players. The courtroom erupted in laughter, even the security guards were laughing. The judge didn’t find the butt slapping as funny, though.

“I don’t know that you’re taking this whole thing seriously. I just saw you slap your attorney on the backside. Is there something funny about this? The whole courtroom was laughing. I’m not going to accept these plea negotiations. This isn’t a joke.”

Once realizing that he pissed the judge off, Chad tried his best to apologize. Claiming that he didn’t do it to be disrespectful. “This is your courtroom. I have no intent to make this a joke. It’s not funny. My life is in shambles right now and I try my best to laugh and keep a smile on my face.” he told the judge. The judge didn’t care, though. She had seen enough silliness from Johnson, “It’s not the first time he’s behaved that way in my courtroom.” she told his attorney.

He was handcuffed immediately and was taken directly to jail where he will have to serve 30 days. His attorney was asked if he would try to get his sentence reduced, but he declined to comment on the situation. Perhaps, he was still feeling tingles from that butt slap. Johnson was trying make his way back on the football field next season, but this incident will certainly not help the situation.
