Leonardo DiCaprio Claims He’s Never Done Drugs
If you have watched “The Wolf of Wall Street” then you know that Leonardo plays one convincing douchebag who snorts coke more than he drinks water.
His performance was so remarkable in the film, that you started to wondering, “Has he had experience with this stuff?” But it turns out that Mr. DiCaprio has never done drugs in his life, he’s just a really good actor.
The 39-year-old actor sat down for an interview with the Los Angeles Times and had this to say,
[more…]“I’ve never done drugs. That’s because I saw this stuff literally every day when I was 3 or 4 years old.”
Apparently, the neighborhood Leonardo grew up in wasn’t the best place for a 4-year-old child. There were drug addicts wandering around the streets, prostitutes and lots of gang violence.
“So Hollywood was a walk in the park for me. I’d go to parties and it was there, and yeah there’s that temptation. Hollywood is a very volatile place where artists come in and they essentially say they want to belong.
It’s incredibly vulnerable to be an actor and also get criticism at a young age when you’re formulating who you are. We’ve seen a lot of people fall victim to that, and it’s very unfortunate.”
Good for him, if he’s being completely honest. So many people in Hollywood are addicted to drugs/alcohol now that I’ve just started assuming every actor has tried them at some point.
