Before we get to the insane Rihanna video, I need to be honest with you all. I feel like we know each other well enough. I feel like it’s safe to admit I still have no idea what twerking really is.

According to Wikipedia (yes Wikipedia) twerking is:

“a type of dancing in which an individual, usually a female,dances to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low squatting stance.”

So, basically a girl pretends she’s taking an incredibly painful sh-t while wearing a sexy outfit? I’m still confused. Urban Dictionary describes twerking as this…

“The act of moving/ shaking ones a**/buns/bottom/buttocks/bum-bum in a circular, up-and-down, and side-to-side motion. Basically a slutty dance. derived from strip clubs.”

That doesn’t help much either. I don’t think anyone really understands what twerking is. Everyone is just pretending to “get it” to seem cool. We’re all confused. It’s like when your teacher at school would use some big word you had never heard of, and he’d point to you, “Do you know what that word means?” He would ask.

“Uh, yeah…of course. That was actually my first word. Not mommy or daddy. My first word was ostracized.” You’d reply. Thinking that you just saved yourself from a lesson.

And then he’d be like, “Explain what it means!”
