Watch: T-Pain Sings Without Auto-Tune, Shocks Everyone With His Beautiful Voice

Yes we know this video was released over 8 months ago, so please don’t be the douchebag who leaves the, “This is sooooo old!” comment. Congratulations for seeing the video when it first hit the internet. We are proud of you, but there are some people out there who still haven’t heard T-Pain’s surprisingly beautiful voice.

Your mind probably jumps to Auto-Tune when you hear someone mention T-Pain. Most people believe the singer/rapper wouldn’t have a career without it, but those people obviously haven’t watched the video below. He might be the Grandfather of Auto-Tune in the music world, but during this NPR Tiny Desk Concert session, the 29-year-old proved he doesn’t need any tricks.

He performed his most famous songs, including, “Buy U A Drank,” which sounds like it could be a wedding song in the video below. The sad thing is, this version of the song would have never being played all over the radio. T-Pain created something fresh and exciting with his music, and even though a lot of people hated the Auto-Tune, it made him stand out from the crowd several years ago.

Now everyone is using it, so he decided to switch things up by letting his voice do all the work. It’s a refreshing change.
