Yikes! Drew Barrymore Says She “Can’t Wait” For Her Mother To Die!

Most people can’t stand the thought of their own mother dying, but Drew Barrymore? Well, she’s counting down the days.

During a recent interview with New York magazine, the 48-year-old actress admitted she’s jealous of friends who have already lost their parents.

All their moms are gone, and my mom’s not. And I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t have that luxury.’ But I cannot wait. I don’t want to live in a state where I wish someone to be gone sooner than they’re meant to be so I can grow. I actually want her to be happy and thrive and be healthy. But I have to f–king grow in spite of her being on this planet.

Yikes. She’s certainly not holding back. For those who don’t know, Barrymore has had a tumultuous relationship with her mother, Jaid.

Jaid acted as her manager when she was a kid and took her to Hollywood parties, which led to Barrymore getting involved with drugs and alcohol at a very young age. By the age of 12, Barrymore had already gone to rehab for drugs and alcohol, and when she was 13, her mom put her in a psychiatric ward.

One year later, when she was just 14, she was emancipated form her parents. Later in life, she reconnected with her father, but she’s never been able to fully forgive her mother.

It’s worth noting that later in the interview, she did seem to show a little remorse for her harsh comments.

I dared to say it, and I didn’t feel good. I do care. I’ll never not care. I don’t know if I’ve ever known how to fully guard, close off, not feel, build the wall up.

Jaid is just 77-years-old, so you know, there’s a chance she still has 10 more years on this earth. Here’s to hoping Drew and her can still work things out.
