Miley Cyrus Says Touring Is Not Good For Her Mental Health
As most of you know, Miley Cyrus dropped a new single last week, and it’s already climbing up the charts. The single, Used to Be Young, seems to be a hit with her fanbase.
But sadly for all you Miley fans out there, the 30-year-old star has no plans to go on tour anytime soon.
In a video released on TikTok, Miley talked about how touring damages her mind and body, and she believes artists need more rest and recovery.
The show is only 90 minutes but that’s your life. If you’re performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest. Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn’t healthy for me, because it erases my humanity and my connection, and without my humanity, my connection, I can’t be a songwriter, which is my priority.
Sounds dramatic, but you’ve heard other artists talk about this as well. They are performing at such a high level, and not only is it hard on your body physically, but it messes with your mind too. You can either experience extreme burnout, or you can get such a big head that no one wants to be around you.
That’s why artists who are constantly on tour are so impressive. It takes a special person to be able to balance that.
