Patrick Mahomes Reveals He’s Worn The Same Pair Of Underwear For Every Single Game Of His Career
We all know professional athletes have some unique superstitions when it comes to game day. If they ate a turkey sandwich the morning of a big win, best believe they’ll be eating turkey sandwiches until they lose.
But sometimes, the superstitions can get a little bizarre, and in Patrick Mahomes’ case, a little unhygienic.
The 28-year-old star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs was on ESPN’s “ManningCast” with Peyton and Eli Manning, and during their conversation, he admitted he has worn the same pair of underwear for every game since his rookie year.
First, my wife, Brittany, got them for me, so I’m not throwin’ y’all down, but I have to wear ’em, ya know. At the same time, I threw ’em on that first season [in 2017, and] we had a pretty good season that season. I clean ’em. I wash ’em. Every once in a while, at least. I mean, if we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash ’em, you know? I’ve gotta just keep it rolling.
Patrick and Brittany seem like they’re secretly into some freaky sh*t. It wouldn’t surprise us if Brittany likes sniffing those bad boys the moment he steps inside the house after a big game.
He claims they’re not “too nasty” or “worn down” because he only wears them on game days. But still, you sweat a lot while playing a professional game of football, and since 2017, he’s played in over 90 games, if you include the playoffs.
But hey, it’s clearly working for him. Since 2017, he and the Chiefs have won two Super Bowls and have been in the playoffs every single year.
DON’T CHANGE THE UNDIES!
