These days, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is a family man. He and his wife, Lauren. already share two kids and they have a third bundle of joy coming in March of 2024.
But life wasn’t always so grand for the 41-year-old reality star.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, The Situation talked about how starring in the hit reality show, Jersey Shore, helped fuel his drug addiction from 2009 to 2012.
I did spend about half a million dollars on cocaine and oxycodone. I was wild. I was careless. I was reckless, and I fell prey to drug addiction. I was into everything. I had everything on me at all times in my Louis Vuitton bag. Everything.
He was like a walking drug factory, noting he also carried Xanax and Valium when traveling on airplanes.
My life was going by so quickly that, at the time, I made a mistake and I thought it was going to help my performance or my stamina, and for a little bit, I have to say, that it did. But eventually I became dependent and I became addicted on these substances.
He does admit that he was addicted to these drugs before filming on the reality show started, but once the cash from the show started pouring in, his addiction got a lot worse because he was able to afford anything he wanted. Sorrentino also claims he would try his best to hide his drug addiction from the production crew, finding out different ways to sneak the drugs on set.
Oh and remember when he slammed his head into a wall during season 4 of the show? Well, he says he was going through withdrawals at the time because he had ran out of pills.
Now this moment makes a little more sense…
