Alyssa Milano Slammed For Trying To Raise Money For Her Son’s Little League Team
51-year-old actress Alyssa Milano has a net worth of around $10 million, with the majority of that coming from her starring role in the ’90s show, Charmed.
Since then, she hasn’t had a lot of success, so it’s not like she’s constantly brining in the big bucks, but still, she’s a millionaire, and people are not happy that she’s asking her fans for money.
She went on her Twitter account this week to post a link to a GoFundMe page for her 12-year-old son’s baseball team. They are trying to fund a trip to Cooperstown.
“My son’s baseball team is raising money for their Cooperstown trip. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated,” she wrote alongside the link.
The fundraiser was hoping to bring in $10,000. Last checked, it sits at around $7,811 in donations. It’s not clear where it was before she tweeted out the link.
In any event, fans are upset because they believe Milano can fund the trip herself, “Why isn’t Alyssa Milano paying for the trip herself?” one user asked. Another person tweeted, “Why is she asking for money from people who can barely buy groceries?”
And another person really went in, “Alyssa Milano has absolutely lost her mind. How out-of-touch and tone deaf can one person possibly be?”
It’s also worth noting that Milano’s husband is a pretty successful talent agent in Hollywood who is worth between $5 and $10 million.
Safe to say, they could definitely fund this entire trip by themselves. Personally, I don’t think they should. I think all the other parents should help as well. That being said, I do agree it’s a bad look for her to ask her fans. It’d be one thing if she posted this on like a private Facebook account with her friends and family, but to reach out to fans? Nah, that’s a bad look.
