Why Did Justin Bieber Turn Down Usher’s Invitation To Perform At The Super Bowl Halftime Show?
Have you recovered from your Super Bowl party? Actually, better question, has your girl recovered from Usher’s halftime performance? Damn. The 45-year-old singer put on a show. He danced his butt off and sang live for the entire performance, which is not something many performers can do.
At one point, he took off his shirt and showed off his body, which was covered in sweat. We’re sure there were more than a few women having to fan themselves after that move.
During the halftime show, Usher brought out a few special guests, including Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris and H.E.R., but one big name who was missing? Justin Bieber. Many people thought the Biebs would make a special appearance in the halftime show, considering Usher basically discovered him.
But sadly, Bieber remained in his private suite with his wife Hailey during the performance. According to multiple sources, Usher tried hard to get Justin on the stage, but apparently, the 29-year-old star just wasn’t feeling up to it.
One insider revealed, “There’s no bad blood between Usher and Justin. Justin just wasn’t up for it — he just wasn’t feeling it.”
And you know, that kinda checks out. Bieber has been taking a lot of time off recently. In 2019, he admitted to suffering from some intense anxiety, and in 2022, he came down with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused facial paralysis for a few weeks, forcing him to cancel his ‘Justice’ tour.
Ever since then, he’s been just chilling. He hasn’t had a big performance since then, so jumping on stage at the Super Bowl in front of millions of people? Yeah, that would have been a little much.
Hopefully he’s able to get back on the saddle at some point.
