Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Taking Weight Loss Drug To Help Her Lose Weight After Ballooning To 300 Pounds
Whoopi Goldberg is not an Ozempic girl, but she is a Mounjaro girl. If you haven’t heard of Mounjaro, it basically works the same way as Ozempic, just with different ingredients. They were both designed to help diabetics lose weight.
During a recent interview with PageSix at the Gardens of Laugh gala in NYC, the 68-year-old ‘View‘ co-host revealed she was around 300 pounds before going on Mounjaro to kick off her weight loss.
I was 300 pounds. I was like, ‘Oh, please, God, make this work.’ I could barely breathe. The only way doctors could jumpstart my metabolism was to put me on this medication.
Apparently, the trouble with her metabolism began following her back surgery and subsequent steroid usage. It really f**ked up her system, which can happen with steroids.
She previously talked about going on the weight-loss medication during an episode of ‘The View’ where she talked about how her weight had never really been an issue for her in the past…
It’s never been an issue for me because I don’t listen to what other people say about me, so it has never been a problem. It was a lot of weight for me to be carrying, and I didn’t realize how much weight I was carrying. I mean, I saw myself every day, but it didn’t look strange to me, and then I couldn’t breathe.
Sounds miserable. We’re glad she’s feeling better, and hey, there’s no shame in needing medication to help. At least she actually needed it. There are some celebs out getting that sh*t illegally just to lose 10 extra pounds before walking a red carpet.
