ATTENTION: Emma Stone Wants You And Everyone Else To Call Her By Her Real Name
Did you know Emma Stone has been living a lie this entire time? The Oscar-winning actress isn’t actually an “Emma” — her real first name is Emily.
The 35-year-old actress spoke to The Hollywood Reporter this week with her ‘The Curse‘ co-star Nathan Fielder. And during the interview, she revealed she wants to be called by her real name.
I would like to be Emily. I originally decided to go by Emma because another actress from SAG had already taken Emily Stone. Then I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.’
She said that people she works with already call her Emily, or some variation of it. For example, Fielder calls her “Em,” which she is totally cool with it.
And it’s not like she’s being an asshole about it. If a fan on the street refers to her as Emma, she’s not going to correct them. She just hopes 10 years from now, more people call her Emily than Emma.
Some of her fans on Twitter are already changing how they refer to her, with one user writing, “I’m calling you emily from now on xxxx,” with another adding, “Good for Emily Stone to ask fans to call her by her real name!”
So there you have it. She’s Emily Stone now!
