Anne Hathaway Fights Through Awkward Moment During ‘Tonight Show’ Interview
Anne Hathaway is a seasoned pro on the interview circuit, but this past week on ‘The Tonight Show‘ with Jimmy Fallon, the 41-year-old actress might have had her most awkward moment.
She was talking about her new film, The Idea of You, which is based on a novel of the same name, and while blanking on the name of something, she asked the audience, “Has anybody read the book?”
Well, that was awkward. Anne Hathaway’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” took an uncomfortable turn after she learned the audience hadn’t read the book that her new film, “The Idea of You,” is based on…. https://t.co/jzgsIXTiK9 pic.twitter.com/szN5WtjlKC

And unfortunately, she was met with the sound of silence. No one responded. She covered her face in embarrassment as Fallon joked about the situation to make everyone more comfortable.
No, we don’t read. This is ‘The Tonight Show.’ You want to go to Stephen Colbert if you want to get people to read books. Lame! We do Audible here.
As the audience started laughing, Hathaway recovered by joining in, “What’s a book?” she joked. It was a pretty hilarious moment, and something that was not planned at all, which is always appreciated in late night television where everything is so scripted.
More of this please.
