Kate Beckinsale Finally Reveals Why She Was Hospitalized While Going In On Some Trolls
Some of you may remember that back in March, 50-year-old actress Kate Beckinsale was hospitalized for six weeks. She posted a couple updates from her hospital room during this time, but did not provide a reason for her stay.
She lost a lot of weight while in the hospital, and in a recent clip posted to her Instagram account, she filmed herself in nothing but a pair of underwear and a small t-shirt.

And of course, the trolls came out to comment on her body. One person commented that her “ass ran away,” and that seemed to really bother Kate. She responded to the troll by explaining how grief caused her to lose lots of weight.
No, actually. I watched my stepfather [director Roy Battersby] die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly.
She then explained how the grief “burned a hole” in her esophagus and she was vomiting “copious amounts of blood.”
I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father so I’m not really concerned about what you think about my ass. Maybe you should worry about your own f–king ass.
Damn. She didn’t hold back!
It’s nice to finally know what caused her stay in the hospital. That experience sounds frightening. Hopefully she’s doing better these days and getting the help she needs to fight the grief.
