Nick Lachey Ordered To Attend Anger Management Classes After Attacking Paparazzo

One year ago, Nick Lachey made headlines for going ballistic on a paparazzo while grabbing a bite to eat with his wife, Vanessa, and a mutual friend.

They were leaving a restaurant in Beverly Hills, headed back to a hotel, when Nick noticed the paparazzo from across the street. He ran over to her car and tried to grab her camera and phone through the window. The paparazzo claims Nick then tried punching the window and she believed he was going to break his hand on the glass.

She told police that she believes he would have hit her had she not rolled the window up in time. Following the incident, the paparazzo filed an incident report with the police, but for a long time, they failed to do anything.

Now, nearly one year later, they have finally ordered Lachey to complete anger management classes.

He has to complete [anger management and AA] within a reasonable time, which is like a year or so. If he fails to do so, they will move forward to prosecute him with noncompliance and he will get arrested.

But the paparazzo made it clear he wouldn’t have been punished at all if she hadn’t “hassled” the Beverly Hills Police Department for months.

Finally they called me back and said, ‘No, he’s not getting preferential treatment’ and explained that they have a program with the courts where they don’t let misdemeanors just walk; they have to attend anger management classes and AA meetings.

It’s not clear when Nick will take these classes, but we’re sure he’ll do it with a smile on his face. You’ll remember, after the incident last year, he sent out a statement admitting he lost his cool.

Last night, after enjoying a great dinner with my wife and our dear friend, the paparazzi harassed us as we walked back to our hotel. I clearly overreacted. I’ve been in this game long enough to know that their antics are sadly part of the deal. Stupid of me. Done.

Some people have speculated that the reason Nick was so heated that night was because this “friend” was actually part of a threesome they were having.

Obviously those reports have not been confirmed.
