Amy Robach And T.J. Holmes Claim They Never Cheated On Their Spouses, Had Careers Ruined Over Pure Love!
Do we all owe Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes an apology? The axed “GMA3” co-anchors debuted their new podcast, Amy & T.J., on Tuesday (Dec. 5) and the first episode was dedicated to clearing their names.
You’ll remember they were fired from GMA3 after it was revealed they had a secret romance and cheated on their respective partners.
But in this new podcast, T.J. and Amy claim they never cheated on their spouses. They say they were both in the middle of divorce proceedings when their fiery romance began.
To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case. We both at that point were in divorce proceedings.
Robach says when the first paparazzi photos of them were revealed to the internet, she had already been separated from her ex-husband, Andrew Shue, for three months.
The whole thing was difficult for them both, but it was especially hard on Robach, who revealed there were days she wanted to die.
There were days when I wanted to die. That was something I never experienced before in my life. I just didn’t want to get up. I didn’t want to see what new headlines was going to be out there.
Holmes also had his moments of complete despair. There was one night he drowned himself in vodka and wrote some suicidal-sounding text messages to Amy, which caused her to drive straight over to his place to check on him.
That day was essentially me getting off work and pounding vodka. I didn’t stop for several hours and took who knows how many weed edibles.
These days, they’re doing much better, and they are “happy and in love” with each other. They are building a life together and hope to put this entire debacle behind them.
Here’s to hoping!
